The hottest news from the Sylinda group!
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Lulu Alluhaibi, who joined the Sylinda team in 2023, is a co-author of an outstanding paper published in the Science journal
Photocatalytic C=C bond cleavage is an important route to oxygenated compounds, but conventional methods rely on hazardous oxidants or O₂. This study presents a sustainable photocatalytic strategy that uses CO₂ as the sole oxygen source under mild conditions. Through iron-mediated CO₂ activation and oxygen transfer, the method converts stable CO₂ into an effective oxidant, enabling greener oxidation reactions and improved CO₂ utilization.
