After installing the monochromator a few days earlier, SOLARIS team, supported by the partners from the Sylinda project, has observed first light on the beamline, on the YAG crystal on Friday, September 24th. This confirms the succesfull installation of the monochromator and moves us one step closer to opening the beamline for both academic and industrial users. According to the preliminary schedule, first users should be able to apply for the beamtime already in the next spring call at Solaris, with the deadline scheduled for April 1st.
