The first EXAFS spectrum of a titanium foil has been succesfully measured at Solaris, marking an important step in the development of the SOLABS beamline. The spectrum is measured around the K edge of Ti in two measurement modes: transmission and total electron yield (TEY). For comparison, an analogical spectrum measured at the Synchrotron Light Research Institute in Thailand is also shown at the graph. The similarity of the spectra shows, that the comissioning of the beamline is progressing as planned and that it should be ready to welcome first users in a few months.
