Research on air pollution caused by fine particulate matter (PM2.5) is of great importance in the context of air pollution indicators and human health. The study conducted by a group led by Prof. Lucyna Samek therefore focused on K-edge analyses of the elements S, Cl, K, Fe, and Zn, which were performed on PM2.5 samples and corresponding reference compounds using XANES measurements.
