On Wednesday September 15th a monochromator has been installed at the SOLABS beamline by the SOLARIS staff, with the assistance of prof. Josef Hormes, dr. Henning Lichtenberg and prof. Alexander Prange. This marks an important milestone in the development of the beamline and a start of the comissioning phase.
The monochromator was built at the University of Bonn and assembled and tested at the Hochschule Niederrhein Institute for Surface Technology. The installation brings us one step closer to opening the beamline for both academic and industrial users. The first measurements at the beamline are expected to begin early next year.
